HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR HEADSHOT

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY TO MAKE SURE YOU ARE PREPARED.

Getting a great acting headshot is one key tool for an actor's promotion. Casting directors, agents, and other industry professionals will normally encounter you for the first time through your headshot.

We aim to make every session fun and without pressure. The sessions are fast-moving without being rushed and normally run for just over one hour.

In preparation for your photo shoot, we wanted to provide you with some guidance and instruction to make sure we all get what we need from your photo shoot and headshots. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Please be prepared for weather delays, as we live in South Florida. The weather may also force us to reschedule the shoot.

WE SHOOT IN ONE OF TWO LOCATIONS PRIMARILY:
EITHER DELRAY BEACH OR BOCA RATON

Please confirm with Diane which location we have selected in advance.

1) DELRAY BEACH:
Park BEHIND the Silver Ball Museum  19 NE Third Ave, Delray Beach, FL 3348
Please note that this location is in Downtown Delray.

2) BOCA RATON:
Parking lot east of the Oxygen Salon in the Royal Palm Plaza
407 SE Mizner Blvd, Royal Palm Place, Boca Raton, FL 33432

Please park in the parking lot near the salon, but you do not need to go.  It is just for reference.

Please park there. Please look for Greg's Matte Black Kia Telluride.

1) Please show up at the time we have you scheduled.  We have a busy schedule, so please properly estimate your drive time.

If you are running late, please text us at 561-302-4659.

2) Clothing/Apparel:

Clothing reflects you, your brand, and your personality, so it’s worth spending some time choosing the right outfit (s) for your shoot. For the majority of acting headshots, you need only worry about your top half.

We recommend avoiding too many distracting patterns, graphics, brand logos, or super vibrant colors for most headshots.  Please bring plenty of tops so we can decide on the best ones for you.

LADIES:  NO CROP TOPS or HALTER TOPS!

IMPORTANT: V-NECKS AND PLAIN T-SHIRTS ARE BEST!

Wear what you feel represents you. Bring 5-7 options of clothing, including different colors. PLEASE INCLUDE A BLACK TOP, SHIRT, OR BLOUSE. Layering looks with jackets, etc., also works well. Please bring a black top and a white shirt, for sure!

I also prefer colors including OLIVE, TAN, BROWN, BABY BLUE, MAROON, and GRAY

*Please bring several pairs of jeans (blue, black, or white). No holes or ripped jeans, please.

*Please bring a blue jean jacket and/or black jacket, if you have one or other jackets (no suit jackets).  Leather jackets are great too.

 3) How To Prepare:

*Please bring your shirts ironed and on a hanger (important)

*Please make sure you get a good night’s rest (this is important). Parents, this is extremely important for kids and teens.

*Also, it is very important you stay hydrated; please drink water with a straw.

* Everyone comes hair and makeup ready. We shoot outside in natural light, so light makeup is always the best. We can always add more if needed. If you are a teen, we want to keep you looking your age, so very light or no makeup is for you.

*NO JEWELRY means no jewelry. This means earrings, nose rings, and necklaces. Your acting headshot is supposed to be all about YOU!

4) Hair / Makeup:

Diane will be on set to help you throughout the photoshoot. You must understand that your hairstyle, color, and cut need to be marketable, so we suggest no wild colors. This goes for makeup as well. We want the images to capture your personality, but most importantly, your beauty. Industry professionals want to see exactly how you would appear for an audition.

We do not use makeup on kids, but teens may use very natural makeup. We need you to look your age. Any blemishes or pimples will be removed in post-production.

Please text Diane a photo of yourself at 561-302-4659 to see your hairstyle. Please ensure you have had a haircut recently so you do not have any split ends.

5) Payments for the Balance of the Photoshoot:

If you did not pay in full, you can bring cash, Venmo, or Zelle for the remainder payment.

6) End of Scheduled Session:

After your session, we will put all the best images into a private gallery and send you a link to review. From this gallery, you can choose your favorites. Once you have finished selecting, you will email us the image numbers, and we will retouch them for you.

In closing, your headshots mean everything to an actor. Reading these instructions is the first key to a great headshot.

Once you have reviewed them in detail, please text Greg at 561-706-1203 to confirm.
